Frequently Asked Questions

  • What size is the ensemble?

We aim to have a consistent roster of 40 singers.

  • When and where does BCCV rehearse?

We rehearse most Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm at St. John's Lutheran Church on College Street in Cedar Falls.

  • What kind of music does BCCV perform?

We do not limit ourselves to a certain "type" or "genre" of music. In the past, we have performed everything from Renaissance motets to newly composed works in both classical and jazz styles. Every concert season will provide new and exciting opportunities for exploring vast and varied choral repertoire.

  • How “independent” of a singer do I need to be?

To ensure the most efficient use of our rehearsal time, it is highly recommended that singers prepare notes and rhythms outside of rehearsal. Rehearsal tracks on selected pieces can be provided as necessary.

  • Where will BCCV perform?

Our feature concerts are typically performed in churches or performance venues in and around the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area. BCCV has also performed in the Great Hall of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, the Hearst Center, and other venues in Waterloo-Cedar Falls.
